HINDU TEMPLE (preliminary perspectives)

this is a preliminary rendering of the approach to my building. Sorry about the barely perceptible curved pattern on the rail. This pattern will become the pattern on the facade of the building

  1. the spiral are great, but you want to explain how it can hold up. i like the floating because it kind of gives the supernatural power sense.

  2. Thats a good point on the floating sense,,,,,I was looking into possibly supporting it with the structure of the inner cylinders, if that isnt possible i will use support materials that will convey that idea...e.g translucent concrete

  3. Study the spiral typology further. Two building's to look into could be the Guggenheim in New York and BIG's 2010 Shanghai pavilion. I'd be interested in seeing how your building's design contributes to the development of the spiral form instead of simply an application of it. For instance, does the spiral need to remain outside of the building? What if the spiral weaved through the interior, and how would that effect the programmatic relationships?

The surface articulation you mention for the exterior sounds interesting. It would be great to see a series of studies where you develop possibilities for the facade.

Also, your renderings are quite nice. However your images should be more diverse. You currently have three images that are very similar. Each image you produce should demonstrate a different aspect of your concept and your design, working together to allow for a comprehensive understanding of your ideas.

  4. Thank you for the precedents. Initially i tried to have the gallery spiral weave in and out of the building, but there were spacial problems and problems related to slope. I intend to have the spiral ramp be ADA compliant so everyone can experience the space.
